WHAT COLORS LOOK GOOD ON ME?

If you ever tried an outfit, you've probably wonder if that color looks good on you. Well, you´re not the only one. Knowing what colors work better for you according to your skin tone and hair color seems like a very hard thing to do if you don’t have some basic knowledge about color analysis; and here’s where I’m going to help you.

The first thing you need to define is whether you have a cool or warm skin tone. It’s really easy, just look at the veins on your inner wrist; green veins means warm and blue veins means cool. Knowing this will help you to find out which season you are.

SPRING (WARM)
Skin: White, gold-yellow, vanilla, cream or peach shades.
Eyes: Brown, hazel, green, blue, gray.
Hair: Brown to medium dark brown, red, strawberry blond, or golden blond.

SUMMER (COOL)
Skin: Very white or pale skin. You may get a sunburn easily.
Eyes: Your eyes are blue, blue gray, or blue green
Hair: Naturally blond, ash blond or ash medium brown hair.

AUTUMN (WARM)
Skin: Light to dark brown, tanned or white (but you may have freckles), all with a golden undertone.
Eyes: Usually brown but some are green, hazel or blue-green
Hair: red, auburn, light to dark brown, or dark blond with warm highlights.

WINTER (COOL)
Skin: Cool brown, olive, or neutral beige.
Eyes: Brown, hazel, dark blue, grey or green
Hair: Black or dark Brown.

Now, why it’s so important to use the appropriate colors? Well, it’s pretty simple:

With the right colors:
  • Your eyes, skin and hair glow.
  • Imperfections (eg. dark eye circles, discolorations, etc.) are reduced which means that you need less makeup.
  • You'll appear bright and alert.
With the wrong colors:
  • Your eyes, skin and hair look drained.
  • Highlight and even create imperfections (eg. double-chin, dark eye circles, yellow teeth, etc.).
  • Your face will fade into the background.

If you need help to know what colors look better on you just let me know. By the way, in case you feel the curiosity, I am Winter. What are you?
