THE PLAID SHIRT

Another week has started and I’m ready to rock it with this badass look which has a plaid shirt as center piece. I think plaid shirts were made for layering rather than as a single piece (it reminds me of that farmer look), but of course it depended on the pattern. What I like the most is the pop of color from the plaid that makes an eye-catching look.

One of my favorite ways to wear a plaid shirt is to simply leave it unbuttoned and throw it over pretty much any outfit. This works best if you have a slightly oversized version that’s made out of a heavier fabric like flannel, which gives any look an instantly grungy, down-to-earth vibe.

For this outfit, I started by layering a plaid shirt with a basic black long sleeve shirt and a black biker jacket; make sure to let the collar of the plaid shirt peek through and to cuff the sleeves. Pair the jacket-and-shirt combo with a scarf, which add both texture and a pop of color to the look; mine is designed to be worn around the neck but as the day wasn’t that cold, I thought this could be a different and cool way to wear it. I went for the gray to keep certain harmony with the colors of the rest of the look, plus I really like the combination between red, black and gray. Next, put on some worn jeans and finish with a pair of black boots (if they are biker boots much better). complete this ensemble by accessorizing with several black and silver bracelets and a big sphere watch and plus a cross body bag; I used black but red can work as well.

Wish you an amazing week!

Love,

Massiel
